Stories that will make you cry (May 15, 2010)

A young mother brought her infant child to the hut where I was staying for prayers. I was having a meeting with the local pastor in Buwunje Village and he said that lady has brought her child who is deadly ill.

I went to check what was happening and was told that the mother said her child was bewitched and he had been born with teeth. This to them was a sign of witchcraft so she removed the teeth from the two week old baby. The child was covered with some white lotion and had amulets on his neck and wrist. The mother had brought him to other places for prayers and even to some local witch doctor but the child only got worse. The child could not swallow because he had sores in his throat. He could not suck milk from the mother I believe from the pain of having the teeth removed. I asked how they removed the teeth and the mother said with a sharp object. Oh wow, how brutal.

Anyway the lady that talked to her was telling her to get saved then she would pray for her baby. The mother was reluctant to receive the Lord as she went to another religion church. I explained that I was not telling her she had to come to our church; we were not talking religion but a relationship with the Lord Jesus. I asked her if she had ever asked Jesus into her heart and she said YES. I did not feel in my heart that she had, so I asked her to tell me WHEN, and she said FROM TODAY!!!! We prayed with her the prayer of Salvation and prayed for her child.

She left and we continued praying for the baby. She came back the next day with a big smile on her face and said that the baby was now sucking milk a bit and you could even hear him cry where before he could not even cry. We rejoiced with her and told her to continue thanking the Lord for healing her child. The Lord is the same yesterday, today and forever.

I wanted to share this story with all of you. I hope you don't mind. (March 2010)

I saw a man who was just laying in the dirt on the street. My heart ached for him. People would just passed him buy and stared at him like an animal. I felt in my heart this is a human being with a soul and a spirit. I did not know what language he spoke and my heart kept hearing if you give one of these little ones a cup of water Matt 10:42 and Matt 25:35 I was thirsty and you gave me to drink. The man was so dirty with no shoes, hair matted, the stench of urine and feces on his body was awful, but this is a human being. My heart ached, what shall I do, what if I go up to him and I scare him, he laid on the dirt. I asked Abu (the young man that works with me) to go and get me some water and something to eat for him and to help me talk to him so I did not scare him seeing a “white woman” coming toward him. People looked , people passed him by, but I knew Jesus died for him. I opened the bottle of water and handed it to him, he looked up, I had thought it was an old man but it was a young man, he took the water and stared at me, I handed him some doughnuts, he tried to lift his other hand but it was swollen and his face was full of sores and swollen and he kept starring, I took his other hand and placed the doughnuts in his hand and he smiled. My Lord, how blessed we are and don’t realize it so many times. This person may have gotten malaria and at times goes to your brain, I had that once and had started to affect the brain but I was blessed to have had money for a doctor and was not affected. Anyway I left him sitting on the dirt not knowing what else to do but maybe just maybe he felt the love of God with one kind gesture. Let us pray so. A smile, a cup of water a kind gesture may just show them the love of Jesus. I was literally crying for him, what can I do, I PRAYED AND BELIEVE THE LORD WAS WAITING FOR SOMEONE ANYONE TO SHOW HIM HIS LOVE.

I go back to the villages next Wednesday for about 6 weeks. So will be out of contact. Please pray for me. I will be going to hopefully finish the school and also to make some desks for this children . Am really excited about both of these things. Have a blessed Easter, that is the reason we can do what we do, to show the love of God. Love you guys
